Dara Thai Cafe

As with Bayou By You, Williams is full of surprises and is home to a fantastic little Thai restaurant called Dara Thai Cafe.

Dara Thai Cafe is just south of Route 66 along 2nd Street in Williams. We visited during the COVID-19 pandemic so the restaurant was closed for dining, but we were able to call in an order for takeout.

Michelle ordered the Tropical Heatwave with chicken at a level 2 spiciness. This came with carrots, zucchini, bamboo shoots, and snow peas. The curry was very creamy, slightly spicy, and packed full of veggies. The chicken was thinly sliced, soft, and quite tasty.

Taylor picked the Spicy Noodle with beef at a level 3 spiciness. The noodles had bell peppers, sprouts, cherry tomatoes, carrots, and onions mixed in that added a nice freshness to the meal. The noodles are nicely cooked and the beef is great. The medium level 3 spiciness is easy to deal with.

We also got some Shumai and Egg Rolls to split. The shumai are pan fried dumplings filled with chicken and veggies. The egg rolls were crispy and flaky rolls filled with veggies and transparent noodles. Both these appetizers were delicious and are even better with their sauce!

Dara Thai Cafe is a wonderful gem in the middle of Williams. This place made us realize that we don’t eat Thai food enough, and we need to find a good place near our house. We hope to return after the pandemic and actually sit down inside to eat and try out some spicier foods!
