Fruits de Saison
After seeing many scrumptious-looking photos of elaborate Japanese parfait desserts, we were determined to try some for ourselves. We chose to try them at Fruits de Saison, a cute cafe on a quiet side street in Akihabara. We were led to a table on the second floor, as the tables on the first floor had already filled with patrons.
Michelle went for a parfait packed with many different high-quality Japanese fruits. These included: honeydew, grapefruit, banana, strawberry, pineapple, grapes, kiwi, mango, and apple - to name a few! There was also whipped cream and yummy different flavored scoops of sorbet.
Not wanting to get the exact same parfait, Taylor chose one filled with chocolate ice cream and bananas. His was also drizzled in chocolate sauce, loaded with an avalanche of whipped cream, sprinkled with nuts, and topped off with a large purple grape.
To go with our parfaits, we also ordered a fluffy croissant filled with layers of thinly-sliced fruit - banana, kiwi, apple, mango, strawberry - and spread with whipped cream. This was extremely delicious!
Our parfaits were gigantic and very tasty. We would definitely visit Fruits de Saison again and recommend it to anyone wanting a break with a fruity sweet treat after wandering around Akihabara.
