Dellepiane

Dellepiane is an Argentine bar known for its delicious burgers and empanadas. Its first location is in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the second is in Sedona, Arizona!

For appetizers, we chose the Oak Creek Wings and Spicy Maple Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Skewers. The wings were crispy and spicy. The chipotle sauce was vinegary and delicious and left a lingering heat in our mouth. The plump shrimp were enhanced by the flavor of the bacon and were slightly spicy.

Since we had had burgers the day before, we opted to try the empanadas. The Beef Mendoza Empanada is a traditional Argentinian empanada with ground beef, onions, roasted red peppers, onions, black olives, and scallions. It has a nice amount of spice in it. We also tried the Corn and Squash Empanada, which was very creamy with a little crunch from the corn. Pepper jack cheese and jalapeno pepper added a slight kick to this one. Next was the Pineapple Pulled Pork Empanada, which has nice bits of pineapple flavor breaking through the pulled pork. The last empanada we tried was the Plum Sun Empanada, which has sun-dried plums, bacon, mozzarella, and jalapeno. It was very creamy from the mozzarella, but the jalapeno did not add much heat. All the empanadas had a nice, flaky shell.

We also tried the Milanesa sandwich, which features a thin, crispy panko-fried short-rib beef filet with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and chimi mayo on a foot long brioche baguette. This was a delicately delicious sandwich with an incredible taste! It was Michelle’s favorite item we tried here.

With his dinner, Taylor enjoyed a caramel vanilla porter and a double chocolate stout. Michelle tried a drink with gin. And, finally, we had churros filled with dulce de leche for dessert. These were fantastic!

We will definitely return to Dellepiane again. We’ll have to try their burgers next time!
