Momo's Kitchen

Sedona isn’t where we would expect to find some delicious Korean food, but this town is quite amazing and full of surprises. We happened to come upon Momo’s Kitchen and decided to get some lunch. We were not disappointed.

Momo’s Kitchen is a food truck that is parked just outside the rear entrance to a small shopping center. Unlike many other food trucks, this one seems to be a permanent fixture next to the building. Finding Momo’s Kitchen can be tough though if you aren’t looking for it. Besides what comes from the parking lot, most foot traffic is from the main entrance to the indoor shopping center off State Route 89A. There isn’t much other than a sign next to the door that would give any inkling of the tasty spot on the other side of the building.

Momo’s Kitchen has a very limited menu. There are two main entrees: Bulgogi and Bimimbap. The rest of the menu is a selection of drinks, teas, a side of kimchi, and a shaved snow dessert. Unfortunately when we ate here the snow wasn’t available.

Since Momo’s Kitchen is a food truck everything was served in to-go containers. Normally takeout food generally is lacking in presentation, but surprisingly their food looked great even with the food in a container. Taylor ordered the bulgogi, which had rice, shredded cabbage, Korean BBQ beef, scallions, and a gochujang mayo drizzled over it. He also had a fried egg added. It was very tasty. The beef was cooked perfectly and there was a slight kick from the gochujang mayo. The large amount of cabbage helped make the meal nice and light, which was great since we were going hiking after.

Michelle ordered the bibimbap with beef. Tofu is an option as well. This came with rice, carrots, seasonal greens, Korean radish, Korean zucchini, beef, fried egg, seaweed, and gochujang sauce. The beef was cooked perfectly as well and the sauce added a nice kick. The overabundance of vegetables helped make this a healthy and light meal as well.

We both also got the Korean pear juice drink. It tasted great, but came in very small cans.

The food at Momo’s Kitchen is fantastic, and it honestly doesn’t need a bigger menu. Since they keep it small, they can focus on making what they do have very delicious. We’ll make sure to stop by before we go hiking again for a light meal and hopefully the shaved snow will be available too.
